The High School of the Planta is a canton Valais institution issuing certificates Matura. Located north of the city of Zion, it currently hosts more than 1,000 students, mostly from the central Valais (100 teachers).

• 18 basic subjects (French, German, English, Italian, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, economics and law, geography, history, philosophy, visual arts, music, physical education, religious education, computer, mature work)
• 6 specific options (Latin, English, Italian, mathematics strong, visual arts, music)
• 14 Additional options (applied mathematics, visual arts, biology, chemistry, physics, economics and law, religious education, geography, history, computer, music, philosophy, pedagogy, psychology, sport)
• 3 different levels of mathematics.
Students have the opportunity to attend a bilingual program (800h), which comes in immersion courses (German disciplines: geography, history, visual arts, additional options, work maturity) and language courses (in German institutions nature). Close cooperation are established with institutions Zurich, Winterthur and Trogen.
Students receive "a balanced and coherent general training, which [their] confers maturity to undertake graduate studies and prepares them to take on responsibilities in society today. This training '[avoids] specialization or anticipation of knowledge or professional skills.' " (CDIP / RRM February 95).
These five-year training takes more than 90 ° / ° of these students to the tertiary level (first and foremost to the universities and federal institutes of technology, but also to the HES, HEP, the HMU, ECAL, HEAD ...). Each year, 160 to 180 students receive their certificate Matura High School College Planta.
